It's Not Fair. A Christmas Tale.

Santa Baby

So after the photo fails with my kids this season, my friend, Marissa Baron took pity on me offered to help me out with a few festive photos.

NO Sugar, Sugar.

You are my candy girl... Well. That got UN-fun fast.
So, remember that time I got all deep about my food intake then made crazy public goals about how and what I was going to eat and NOT eat?

OF COURSE YOU DO.  It was THREE DAYS AGO.

Remember the song Smelly Cat Phoebe sang on Friends?

Dem Boots

So a little while ago, we all drooled creepily over Emma's Steve Madden boots, but those are a little out of my price range while I'm on maternity leave. Today I want to talk about my favourite boots this season.

What is that one thing in life that you just can't kick?

For me, it's food.

Fix me some fitness

Gabs makes a great free weight.

So this week, I decided to get on the fitness train, full steam ahead.

Back in Black

If you're anything like me, you've got plenty of black in your closet (hello, slimming!), but maybe you're not sure how to put it all together without channeling Morticia Adams or that sweet little emo kid down the block.

Fit Mamas. How to workout after bébé.

Hey Moms (and deer-in-headlights-everyone-else who stumbled onto this post),

Here's a quick who/what/where/when/why for you:

Who: I'm Abbie. I'm thirty-two and a mom of two minions of the female variety.
Is the sun in my eyes or am I just so tired I can't open them?

So I was scrolling through the amazing blog Shoes to Shiraz by Deena, when I came across her link-up on her month review in numbers posts.

My Sister's Closet. DEBUT

I don't have ANY claim as a fashionista, a photographer (ha!) or a blogger (read: zero tech skills), as I mentioned in this "fash-hun" post, but I love wearing cute clothes and feeling put-together, both at work as a high school teacher and at home, hanging out with my minions.

Fash-hun?

FASHION!

I don't have ANY claim to being a fashionista, a photographer (ha!) or a blogger (read: zero tech skills), but I love wearing cute clothes and feeling put-together, even when just hanging out with my minions.

Newbies

Note: This post was originally published in April 2014.

Newbie: Urban Dictionary defines a newbie as a person new to a game, concept, or forum. Not to be confused with a stupid person. Newbies are just new.

Maybe you're a rookie parent or student or pet owner or dishwasher.

We've all been there and I like newbies. They don’t always know the right way to do things, they aren’t the best at everything, but they ask interesting questions. They bring a fresh perspective and an enthusiasm that hasn’t been dampened by experience.  I think it’s why I love teaching kids in grade nine, when they first start high school and are full of fear and awkward fashion choices. Busting with bravado and raucous behavior.  Ready to try and fail and figure it out.
