God loves ME

We've all seen the bumper sticker, "Smile! God loves you!" and if we didn't key the car as we walked by, then I think we should get a few extra points for that. That surface flippancy always repelled me, ever since someone told my thirteen year old self that "everything happens for a reason" when my 11-year-old brother died.

Against such things there is no law

In his letters, Paul is always talking about the law. How we are under the law of sin and death and how Jesus has fulfilled the requirements of that law so that we aren't under it anymore.

What if your biggest struggle is just a little discomfort?

I am good in crises. I really suck at the every day little tasks and that's what God has been nudging me to hand over.

Humble Pie

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord.

I didn't realize what a stronghold pride is in my life. I have all sorts of pride pockets that God has been slowly (or jarringly suddenly) revealing in my life this year.

Integrity

The difference between living in discipline and living in integrity.

The difference is love, when your outsides match your insides.

Too much Jesus

That's it. That's the prayer. That's the post. That's hopefully the review.

I dare you to try too much Jesus too.

Women of Valour

August 8/23

This year, I met Rachel Held Evans for the first time. She's already in heaven but her words and her questions live on and I loved meeting her through her books. I don't agree with everything she thought but I immediately knew she loved Jesus and I am coming to know, like her, that He is big enough for all of our worries and wonderings.

She introduced me to the phrase "Eshet Chayil," woman of valour.

"Live no Lies" by John Mark Comer, the 3 Challenges every Christ Follower will face

This is kind of a long one and it's mainly just for my own benefit so I don't forget the important things I learned, but I read this book over the Christmas break and it affected my heart deeply.

If you haven't decided to put your trust in Jesus Christ and allow Him to take over your life's purpose then this post likely won't make a lot of sense but if you have, then maybe you can relate.

Hakarat HaTov- Recognizing the Good

In 2023, I had a year of drawing back, of reflection, and of many many wonderful experiences, but also of uncovering uncomfortable things.

A covenant of grace while the darkness comes and goes

"I wish someone would have told me that this darkness comes and goes." -Pink

Today is a beautiful sunny Monday in February and the snow is dripping off the roof and the kids are at school and life feels hopeful and fresh.

Bloom where you are planted

Today I was thinking about all the things in my life that I didn't want.

Self Comfort? Self Care? Self love?

Lately I've been so aware of how much I've been focused on myself. Maybe it's because it's a time of transition in my life but I think my default state is always to revert to living inside my own head.
