|Let's go on an adventure. - Tank - Little Orchard Co.|
This last winter and spring, I've struggled with postpartum anxiety and I've been trying to get that under control and regain a sense of normalcy and joy. It's been a process and I don't know if I'm fully there yet but having some big stresses out of the way (like finding a place to live for next year for example) has definitely helped. For me, getting outside in this beautiful weather and getting a change of scenery also uplifts my attitude and adjusts my focus.
My perceived inconveniences need to be transformed into adventures and at the top of the list is motherhood. Parenting IS one of the biggest adventures Nathan and I have embarked on and sometimes I let my perspective shift until everything feels really really inconvenient. It's time to stop that short.
I want to intentionally enjoy and experience these short moments of exploration and discovery with my kids. Whether we're at home and walking to the library or on a trip somewhere in this big world, we can explore, enjoy and engage in the world around us each day.
This message on these shirts from Heidi, the cool mom behind Little Orchard Co. is a fun reminder to myself. Positive graphic tees lift my spirits and I love that Heidi carries apparel in infant, kids and adult sizes because I'm a sucker for matching sets.
When I saw these Happy Camper tees, I was sold.

Little Orchard Co. is based in Manitoba and when Heidi's not at craft sales all over Canada, she's creating adorable and practical baprons (bib/baby aprons). How cute are these??

This awesome bapron has gotten some serious use lately. Emily decided some time ago that she's too big for bibs but when she saw the ladybugs on this bapron, she put it on herself and exclaimed, "THIS is just for big girls, Mom."
Adorable baprons aside, when I first came across the Little Orchard Co. website, I was immediately drawn to the blog, where Heidi has created an online space to commemorate stories of parents who have experienced stillbirth or infant loss (the Love You Forever Project). In addition to sharing these powerful memories and experiences, the proceeds of the Love You Forever t-shirts and onesies in her shop go to the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep organization and both the wearing of the shirts and the donation are beautiful and tangible ways to pay ongoing tribute to the often silent pain of losing a child.
